Mother’s Day is a special occasion that provides an opportunity to express gratitude, love, and appreciation to the most important women in our lives. I love a good care package, so naturally, I thought of building a care package as a great way to make my mom feel special and loved. In this blog post, I’ll share easy ideas for a Mother’s Day care package.
Tea and Coffee
Tea and coffee are a great way to start the day, or to relax after a long day. For a Mother’s Day care package, consider including a selection of high-quality tea and coffee. Look for options that are organic, fair trade, and sustainably sourced. Some great options include herbal tea blends, coffee beans from small-batch roasters, and loose leaf tea.
Still another idea for a cozy drink is a great bottle of wine.
Personalized Note
One of the most meaningful items you can include in a care package is a personalized note. Take the time to write a heartfelt message expressing your love and gratitude. Let your mom know how much she means to you, and how much you appreciate all that she does.
Try to find a special stationary that adds a beautiful backdrop for your words.
Skincare Products
Pampering your mom with skincare products is a great way to show her that you care about her well-being. Consider including items like moisturizing lotions, facial masks, or high-quality soaps. Look for natural, organic options that are gentle on the skin.
Make sure to check out local farmer’s markets for some unique options that use local ingredients.
Scented Candles
Aromatherapy is a great way to promote relaxation and create a calming atmosphere. Scented candles can help your mom unwind after a long day. Choose candles with soothing scents like lavender, chamomile, or vanilla.
Chocolates and Sweets
Who doesn’t love a sweet treat? Include some of your mom’s favorite chocolates or sweets in the care package. Consider including high-quality chocolates or gourmet treats that she may not treat herself to.
If your mom is not a sweets fan, there are also salty snacks, like chips, nuts, and cheese. Yum!
Bath Bombs and Salts
Bath bombs and salts are a great way to create a spa-like experience in the comfort of your own home. They can help your mom relax and unwind after a long day. Look for options that are natural and free from harsh chemicals.
Flower Bouquet
A beautiful bouquet of flowers is a classic gift that never goes out of style. Consider including a small bouquet of your mom’s favorite flowers in the care package. This is a great way to brighten her day and bring a smile to her face.
If you want to gift your mom something that will last longer than flowers, a small plant would be great also.
Books and Magazines
Reading is a great way to relax and unwind. If your mom is an avid reader, consider including some of her favorite books or magazines in the care package. Alternatively, you could include a new book that you think she would enjoy.
Used book stores have wonderful options in their art, travel, photography and cook book sections.
Homemade Treats
If you have a talent for baking or cooking, consider including some homemade treats in the care package. This could be something as simple as homemade cookies or a batch of your mom’s favorite muffins.
If you don’t bake, no worries! If you have a great bakery nearby, it would be a wonderful and warm touch to include a freshly made treat.
Photo Album or Frame
A photo album or frame is a great way to preserve memories and create a lasting memento. Consider including a photo album filled with pictures of you and your mom, or a framed photo of a special moment you shared together. A small frame would be perfect to add to the care package.
One of my go-to online stores I rely on for special care packages is Zingerman’s. This is not a sponsored post, but I can still heartily recommend them. They have so many yummy options from coffee, cakes, breads, jams, meats, cheese, and even international options that are seasonal. Every time I’ve used Zingerman’s, I have rave reviews from my friends. Make sure to check out their Mother’s Day gift baskets.
